What is a Ducted Air-conditioning system?

A ducted air-conditioning system is designed to heat & cool your entire home or office, so you can enjoy air-conditioned climate control comfort all year round keeping your family cool in summer and warm in winter.

A ducted system consists of an outdoor unit and a central indoor unit (installed in the ceiling, underfloor or outside, depending on your home layout) that heats or cools the air and then distributes the air through a series of ducts to air outlets located in each room of your home.

How does a Ducted System work?

A Ducted air-conditioning system is zoned to enable you to have control of heating or cooling areas of your home or office. Zoning your system is perfect for energy efficiency as you can choose which rooms to heat or cool or turn off a zone if a room is not in use.

Depending on your home, a typical zoning layout may be something like:

Zone 1: Bedroom 1
Zone 2: Bedroom 2, 3 or 4
Zone 3: Kitchen & Family Room
Zone 4: Dining & Living
Zone 5: Study

Types of Ducted Systems used

TMC Air supply & install Mitsubishi Heavy Industries or Actron Air Ducted systems. Actron Air have two types of Ducted systems, a classic and an EPS Plus, which is an energy efficient system. Depending on your needs, we will recommend a system that best suits you. Alternatively, if you prefer to use another brand, we are happy to install your preferred choice.
